Case Study - Vanderbilt University

Customer Challenge

Vanderbilt University, a world renowned academic institution, needed to make important renovations to its physical plant during the summer months so as to not disrupt class scheduling during the academic year.  The improvements would help the University enhance the educational experience for students and faculty. 

FM Sylvan Solution

FM Sylvan’s deep labor relationships allowed rapid mobilization of trades to meet the industrial contracting services requirements of the project in a limited time window.  In addition, strong project management capabilities enabled close coordination between the customer, contractors, the design team and engineers.  The project moved forward despite the need of select staff still occupying the facility during the summer months.

Results

The project was delivered successfully, on time and on budget in time for the beginning of the Fall semester.  FM Sylvan’s agility, strong resource and financial management, ensured that there was no interruption or displacement of classes or students.
